Basic Troubleshooting
Geared for 1st and 2nd level support or helpdesk persons. Teaches how to "triage" windows problems.
It teaches you how to step through key components of the system such as CPU, Memory, Networks, and Disk in order to “triage” a system failure and figure out the correct data to gather. It shows the proper way to create a working timeline of the failure and plot events against it along with key data that is gathered.
Stop rebooting without an understanding of the failure!
Stop restarting an application without understanding why you need to!
Diagnostic Tools for IT Professionals
Do you want to learn how an application actually works? Do you want to feel
confident in your troubleshooting abilities when you approach a system that is hour-glassed?
This class is designed for 3rd level support professionals. In this course,
we build a solid foundation of IT knowledge including:
- Operating System Core Fundamentals
- Network Fundamentals
- Database Fundamentals
- Protocols (TCP/IP, RPC, COM/DCOM,
.Net
Remoting, WCF)
Are you in support and you just feel stuck sometimes? You just plod along
like you are going through traffic and not really solving problems. You can
learn the tools and techniques used by our engineers who solve tough problems every
day. Get out of the rat race and lead the pack.
After we pump you full of core knowledge and architecture (like how a COM STA works
COM-STA) we teach you how to use freely available diagnostic tools to troubleshoot. The
tools are designed to show how the architecture works. There are many hands-on
labs throughout the entire course. View a sample lab here: Spy++.
